IUOE Local 727 is proud to recognize Stephanie Deveau as our December 2025 Member of the Month!
Originally from the small Acadian town of Meteghan, Nova Scotia, Stephanie began her career in 2019 in Yarmouth as a casual after completing the MHE program in Dartmouth. She went on to work several temporary positions before settling in Digby, where she has continued to serve the community for the past few years. In 2021/2022, Stephanie furthered her education at Holland College in Prince Edward Island to become an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP). Since then, she has proudly called the Digby area her home base.
Stephanie is constantly providing high-quality and VERY compassionate care to her patients, ensuring each person she serves feels supported and respected during vulnerable moments. She also takes on the important role of preceptor, helping guide and mentor the next generation of paramedics. Beyond the ambulance, Stephanie is an active member of the community—volunteering with food drives, toy drives, and pet drives, and speaking to local Embers and Girl Guides about her experience as a female paramedic, inspiring young girls to consider careers in emergency services.
Outside of her paramedic role, Stephanie’s creativity keeps her busy. About two years ago, she began making artisanal soaps—a hobby that quickly grew into her own small business. You can often find her crafting soaps at home, attending local markets and craft shows, or participating in community initiatives. Her involvement reflects her genuine passion for connecting with and supporting her community.
At home, Stephanie cares for seven cats—five of her own (Levi, Laycie, Lenni, Lupin, and Lark) and two she is currently fostering (Odie and Meow Meow). Her love for animals is just another example of her big heart and nurturing nature.
Thank you, Stephanie, for your dedication to patient care, your leadership as a mentor, and your outstanding community involvement. Congratulations on being named our December 2025 Member of the Month!
